The issue of human embryonic stem cell research is being debated at both the national and state levels. Embryonic stem cell research requires live embryos to be destroyed in their first week of development to obtain the stem cells. Do you support or oppose using tax dollars to fund stem cell research that requires destruction of embryos?

Currently there are several scientifically proven methods to obtain stem cells that do not require the destruction of embryos. Adult stem cells are obtained without harm to the donor from non-embryonic sources such as adult tissues, umbilical cord blood, and placental blood. Do you support or oppose using tax dollars to fund stem cell research that uses adult stem cells?
